Nissan Wooing Work-Truck Fleets with First Single-Cab Titan Pickup

Nissan's 2017 Titan Single Cab, the company’s first single-cab Titan full-size pickup truck, offers an 8-ft. pickup bed on a boxed ladder-frame chassis, and is designed as an entry point in the commercial fleet work truck markets.

The truck comes with a choice of 5.6L Endurance V8 gasoline engine (390 hp and 394 lbs.-ft. of torque) or a Cummins 5.0L V8 turbodiesel (310 hp and 555 lbs.-ft. of torque). Diesel-equipped models feature an Aisin 6-speed automatic transmission and V8 gasoline-engine versions use a 7-speed automatic transmission. The Single Cab tops the line’s towing capacity – with Cummins diesel power – at 12,640 lbs.

Along with a choice of 4x4 and 4x2 drive configurations, two entry-grade trim levels, S and SV, will be available for Titan XD and Titan Single Cabs.

The Titan Single Cab’s wheelbase is about a foot shorter than the crew cab. The standard Titan crew cab has a 5.5-ft. bed length, while the XD crew cab has a 6.5-ft. bed.

The Single Cab models are assembled in Canton, Miss., with the 5.6-liter V8 gasoline engine assembled in Decherd, Tenn. The 5.0-liter diesel engines are assembled by Cummins in Columbus, Ind.

The Titan is available in S, SV, SL, PRO-4X and Platinum Reserve trim levels.
