The Roadtec 950-hp RX-900 cold planer propels every piece in the train.

The new RT-500 cold recycler - used on this job in its prototyping program - is designed to crush and screen the RAP produced by the RX-900, while its pugmill mixes the emulsion with the recycled materials.

A windrow loader, visible at the back of the train, picks up the material and feeds it to the paver, which puts the base material down according to spec.

The CIR process preserves natural resources by reusing 100 percent of the old HMA layer. This alleviates trips to a landfill, thereby reducing transportation costs and fuel emissions.
