Pump operator certification changing
Major changes are in store for the American Concrete Pumping Association (ACPA) Certification Program. In an effort to increase the safety awareness level of Certified Concrete Pump Operators, beginning January 1, 2010, the following will take effect:

  1. Operators must fulfill four hours of safety training education as a prerequisite for ACPA Certification. The requirement will also apply to current ACPA Certified Operators when their certification expires for the first time after January 1.
  2. The one-year grace period for certification has been eliminated.
  3. The Recertification Test will be administered "closed book."
  4. Cost of Certification will increase.

By the year 2012, all ACPA Certified Operators will have fulfilled the new safety training education requirement. For more information on these changes, visit www.concretepumpers.com or contact the ACPA National Office at (614) 431-5618.
