Multiquip lead the industry in alternate-fuel power by developing, and now marketing, a light tower that is powered by a hydrogen fuel cell. The H2LT is emits so little exhaust that it can be operated indoors indefinitely with no need for additional ventilation. It is fuel efficient, running up to 50 hours between refueling. Fuel cells convert gaseous hydrogen directly to electricity, a little heat and very little water. The only noise -- 43 decibels at 23 ft. -- comes from an electric cooling fan used to maintain the temperature of the control electronics and is lower than that of a typical human conversation. A significant part of the H2LT's fuel efficiency is the new plasma light technology it uses. This filament-free light and produces a remarkable 22,000 lumens of what Multiquip says is near-perfect-quality light while consuming only 255 watts. The low-glare lights are virtually indestructible.
