Komatsu's HM300-3 articulated dump truck is powered by a 325-hp Komatsu diesel certified for EPA Tier 4 Interim and EU Stage 3B emissions that increases power while cutting the truck's fuel consumption. Gross vehicle weight rating is 115,147 lbs., and it can haul up to a 31-ton payload at its maximum ground speed of 36.4 mph. Komatsu's new Traction Control System (K-TCS) automatically applies the inter-axle differential lock as ground conditions worsen and tire slippage is detected by speed sensors located on four wheels. If slippage continues, four independent brakes can be applied to slipping wheels to regain traction. K-ATOMiCS (Komatsu Advanced Transmission with Optimum Modulation Control System) automatically selects the six-speed transmission's ideal gear based on vehicle speed, engine rpm and the shift position chosen, which results in powerful acceleration, smooth down shifting and synchronized engine speed when climbing slopes.

  • 9-ft. 2-in. loading height matches 30-ton to 60-ton hydraulic excavators or 5 to 7.5 cu.yd. loaders
  • New cab design with redesigned dasboard and new 7-in. LCD monitor
  • KOMTRAX and EMMS (Equipment Management Monitoring System) are standard
