Creekside Lawnscapes March Winner of Case Community Challenge

The New York contractor is recognized for providing upgraded electrical power to Camp Greene.

RACINE, WI - Case Construction Equipment has named Creekside Lawnscapes, Inc., Marilla, N.Y., the March winner of the Case Community Challenge. Sponsored by Case, the program recognizes construction contractors who support their local communities with significant community service projects.

Case honored Creekside Lawnscapes for installating new underground power cable to provide upgraded electrical service throughout Camp Greene, which is used by the New York District Royal Rangers. The New York District Royal Rangers is an adventure program and local ministry designed for boys and young men ages 5- to 17-year-olds.

As the March winner of the Case Community Challenge, Creekside Lawnscapes will receive a $1,000 CNH parts and service gift card to use at their preferred Case dealer. The company also qualifies as a finalist for the Case Community Challenge grand prize - one year's free use of a Case N Series loader/backhoe. Case will also donate $1,000 in cash to the New York District Royal Rangers, a local ministry.

"The camp facilities for the New York District Royal Rangers are located far off the main road and more than 1,000 feet from the public utility power lines," said John Gingerich, president of Creekside Lawnscapes. "The previous feeder line didn't have the capacity to serve the camp's electrical needs. Now all the camp facilities will benefit from the upgraded power we provided by installing the new underground cable."

The new underground cable installation project began in early 2011. The first aspect of the project - the installation of the primary feed cable - has been completed. The second phase of the project - installing feeder lines to out buildings - is expected to be completed by Sept. 30. Creekside Lawnscapes contributed the manpower and equipment used at Camp Greene for the underground cable installation, including a compact track loader and compact excavator.

"I really enjoy doing things like this for the community," added Gingerich. "This is one reason why I stay in this business, so I can contribute this kind of work for an organization like the Royal Rangers."

Each month through October 2011, the Case Community Challenge will recognize a contractor whose work on a charitable project makes a positive, lasting contribution to the local community. In November, a panel of industry leaders will select a winner from the semi-finalists, who will receive one year's free use of a new Case N Series loader/backhoe. In addition, Case will donate $5,000 to the winner's charitable organization.
