ASCC Celebrates 10th Anniversary of Annual Conference

Three days of seminars and roundtables will be held in Grand Rapids, Mich.

ST. LOUIS, MO -- The American Society of Concrete Contractors will celebrate the 10th Anniversary of its Annual Conference on Sept. 15-18, 2011 at the Amway Grand Hotel, Grand Rapids, MI.

Concrete contractors, manufacturers, suppliers and other industry professionals will gather for three days of seminars, roundtables and fun. Speakers include Charles Vander Kooi, Kim Basham, Peter Craig and William Klorman.

Joe Schneider, Spirit Seminars and Consulting, will be the keynote and general session speaker. Topics are "Why They Don't and How to Guarantee They Will" and "Would You Do Business With You?"

A Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Dr. Ward R. Malisch, ASCC technical director. Malisch has nearly 50 years' experience in the concrete industry. He has worked for the American Concrete Institute and the Portland Cement Association, was the editor of Concrete Construction magazine, and taught at several universities.

The ACI flatwork finisher certification class and exam and the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association pervious concrete certification will be offered Thursday, September 15. Rocky Geans Concrete Construction Business School will be held September 14 and 15.

Additional highlights include the Safety Awards dinner, a walking tour of the Grand Rapids Art Museum and the Andel Institute, a Lake Michigan fishing excursion, and a golf tournament.
