Wirtgen Isn't Resting on Its Laurels

Company exhibits Tier IVi technology for rollers

During its press conference at CONEXPO-CON/AGG last Thursday, Wirgten Group announced several new products, including new Tier IVi technology for its H20 roller.

"During this economic downturn, we weren't resting on our laurels," says Bruce Monical, director of marketing with Wirtgen Group. "We introduced several new products, expanded factories and continued to grow our market share in each industry segment we cover."

Wirtgen Group includes four groups under its umbrella. Wirtgen introduced several new products, including the 3600 CR cold in-place recycling machine, WR 2400 reclaimer/stabilizer and four milling machines. The big news for Wirtgen was the introduction of its new generation of concrete slipform pavers to the North American market. "These three machines are totally redesigned for the North American market," says Jeff Wiley, vice president with Wirtgen. "We brought these machines to the States about a year ago."

Kleeman introduced its MOBIREX MR 110 EVO mobile impact crusher and the MOBICAT MC 110ZS for recycling and crushing natural stone.

Vogele America presented its largest fleet of pavers ever at CONEXPO, including the new Super 1300-2, Super 1303-2 and Super 2100-2.

Hamm introduced the new GRW 280 rubber-tired roller and had on display its H20i compactor, which will be in production and available next fall. The H20i features a 215-hp Deutz 6-cylinder diesel engine with Tier IV interim technology. "As far as we know, we're the only manufacturer showing a roller with Tier IVi technology at CONEXPO," says Monical.

The engine offers state-of-the-art combustion technology and a diesel particulate filter with automatic regeneration combine to deliver a considerable reduction in emissions. The engine satisfies the stringent Tier IVi/EU IIIB/MLIT Step 4i requirements.
