Torrance, CA - Both the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and American Honda Motor Co. voluntarily recalled Honda and Mantis Mini Tillers, over fire hazards the tillers pose. The CPSC recalled about 6,150 tillers on November 16, 2010.

The recall was initiated after discovering that the rubber grommet that is a part of the tiller's fuel tank can crack and leak fuel, which poses a fire hazard to consumers.
