DeWalt Launches Line of 18V Bare Tools

New line allows professional end users to expand their 18-volt systems.

DEWALT, a leading manufacturer of industrial power tools, launches a line of bare tools (batteries and chargers sold separately) that will offer end users the convenience to choose the product they need to complete nearly any task. For the first time, DEWALT users will be able to purchase single tools, combo kits, bare tools as well as batteries and chargers, for optimal flexibility. With more than 59 million batteries in the field and the largest 18-volt platform in the industry, DEWALT is pleased to offer a new line that will make it easy for professionals to add to their existing DEWALT 18-volt cordless systems.

Whether they prefer XRP, XRP Lithium-Ion or the new Compact Lithium-Ion batteries, this product offering provides maximum flexibility so that contractors can replace or add specific tools as needed without having to buy a complete kit. Additionally, the new line, which includes eighteen tools from drills and impact drivers to saws and expansion products, such as cordless rotary hammers and vacuums, offers professional users a cost effective way to build their own kit with the batteries and tools that they need on the jobsite.

"As a result of the time, energy and resources we dedicate to understanding our end users, we know that DEWALT's professional customers have between eight to ten 18-volt batteries in their fleet," said Frank Mannarino, VP of Cordless Product Development for DEWALT. "We also know that these users are looking for a way to affordably expand their cordless systems in the event that an old battery needs to be replaced or a new tool is needed on the jobsite. By offering this new line of bare power tools, we hope to meet end users' needs and provide the flexibility they have requested to grow their cordless product portfolio."
