Civil Information Modeling (CIM):
Use of BIM and 3D Modeling in Highway, Bridge and Civil Construction
December 6, 2011 | 2:00pm - 3:30pm ET
BIM and 3D modeling have been used extensively and successfully in vertical building construction. Contractors and state DOTs and other public owners are now recognizing its application and value in the construction of highways, bridges and other civil projects.
Civil Information Modeling (CIM) can lead to better estimates, early identification of design conflicts and flaws, more efficient construction operations, safer and more economic traffic management plans, better communications with the public, enhanced cooperation among the construction team and other benefits.
This webinar will be presented by Dan Russell, Sundt Construction Inc., who has extensive experience in the use of BIM and 3D modeling on both vertical projects and highway and bridge projects who will describe the use and benefits of CIM.
