Lafarge Trades Front-Range Operations for Martin Marietta Mississippi-River Quarries

Lafarge expands control of big-river aggregates in MS, TN, KY and MO, while Martin Marietta gains CO and WY plants

Lafarge North America will swap some of its aggregates, ready-mix concrete and asphalt and paving operations in the Colorado Front Range and Wyoming for some of Martin Marietta's aggregates quarries and distribution facilities on the Mississippi River. As part of this transaction, Lafarge will also receive a cash payment.

The Martin Marietta assets that Lafarge will receive include aggregates sites located along the Mississippi River in Mississippi, Tennessee, Kentucky and Missouri, as well as distribution yards along the lower Mississippi River and associated barging equipment. The Lafarge assets to be exchanged include aggregates sites, along with ready-mix concrete and asphalt plants.

Lafarge has a strong presence in the United States and Canada, where it is a diversified supplier of construction materials. This asset exchange, subject to regulatory approval, complements Lafarge's current network of operations along the Mississippi River. These sites will create additional synergies among all Lafarge operations in the region.
