The Post-Tensioning Institute (PTI) intends to submit an application for American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Accreditation for Product Certification Bodies with respect to the PTI Unbonded Tendon Plant Certification Program.

ANSI accreditation provides a means for the verification of the quality of certification programs and to assist owners/specifiers in making informed decisions. The ANSI Accreditation program for Certification Bodies is intended to improve industry practices and to differentiate quality programs.

In preparation for this effort, PTI has established a standing committee designated as the “Unbonded Tendon Plant Certification Committee” (UTPC Committee) to serve as the certification body and to implement the Unbonded Tendon Plant Certification Program. The UTPC Committee is responsible for developing the standards that form the technical basis for granting certification and for the formulation of policy matters relating to the operation of the certification program.

In accordance with ANSI procedures, PTI is required to give due notice of any changes it intends to make in its requirements for certification. Accordingly, the following draft documents are being made available for public review for a 45-day discussion period:

All interested parties are invited to review these draft documents and provide comment. Copies may be downloaded by visiting PTI’s website or by clicking the links above.
