Euro Auctions Expands Into U.S. with Acquisition of Atlanta Auction Site

First auction at the new site likely in early 2013

Euro Auctions, the UK’s largest auctioneers of construction machinery and industrial equipment, announces its continued global expansion with the acquisition of a new auction site in Newnan, near Atlanta, Georgia, just one year after the opening of its auction site in Brisbane, Australia.

Euro Auctions has a acquired  65-acre site that was formally home to the ADESA Atlanta Truck & Equipment Auction Facility. Approximately 60 of the site's total acres is hard paved, making the facility perfect for presenting large quantities of construction machines and industrial equipment for auction.

The onsite facilities include: the main drive-through auction hall; office accommodation; a check-in and sale day administration building; cafeterias; as well as two preparation and spray workshops where Euro Auctions staff can prepare equipment and machinery for sale. In all, the onsite accommodation equates to approximately 52,500 sq feet.

During the last 10 years Euro Auctions has forged trade links and built relationships with major players in the U.S. equipment and machinery markets. Euro Auctions also has a large number of existing customers from North America, as well as relationships with many of the equipment and machinery companies that are located in this area of Southeast. The addition of this site will enable Euro Auctions to further service the needs of existing customers while creating new relationships with buyers and sellers across the U.S.

Euro Auctions has long aspired to enter the USA market but plans have always hinged on finding a suitable facility,” commented Jonnie Keys, General Manager of Euro Auctions. “This site was chosen by Euro Auctions because of the quality of the facility, as well as its excellent location. It also provides us with the unique opportunity to be located amongst the hub of the American equipment industry, which will be instrumental to the success of this venture. We anticipate that the first sale at the new Euro Auctions, Atlanta site will be in the early part of 2013 and we then plan to hold regular auctions there.”
