Entering its third season, SnowCare for Troops connects military families who have a spouse or family member currently deployed in the armed forces with snow removal and landscape professionals to provide free snow removal services.

In addition to volunteer participation, donations of money or gas cards as well as loans of snow removal equipment to volunteers and community groups are also needed.

SnowCare for Troops will build upon two successful seasons when snow arrives this winter. In its first two years, the program had 1,200 volunteers signed up to help more than 1,500 military families needing snow removal assistance. With nearly 1.5 million active duty military troops serving in the U.S. armed forces the need for volunteers is great.

The SnowCare for Troops program is managed by Project EverGreen and underwritten by THE BOSS Snowplow. Project EverGreen is a national nonprofit organization committed to informing the public about the positive effects of well-maintained green spaces, including lawns and landscapes, sports turf, golf courses, trees and parks. Its SnowCare for Troops program is modeled after its wildly successful sister program, GreenCare for Troops. In operation since 2006, GreenCare for Troops, underwritten by Cub Cadet, provides free lawn and landscape services to military families.
