For the first time ever, the Summit of the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) will be held as a virtual event, along with a digital prize ceremony for the International Awards for Powered Access (IAPAs) on March 18. The event will focus on sustainability in powered access, digitization and technological innovation for safer working at height, and the challenges and opportunities the industry will be faced with as the world reemerges after the COVID-19 pandemic.

The line-up for the event includes:

  • Suzannah Nichol, CEO, Build UK, who will look at the opportunities and challenges facing major contractors in maintaining safe and sustainable worksites, and how enhanced accident reporting, digital innovation, and working closely with partner organizations like IPAF will play a key part in achieving shared objectives.
  • Søren Brogaard, new CEO of Trackunit, will present with Peter Douglas, CEO and managing director of IPAF, about the organizations’ collaboration in producing the ePAL app for mobile devices.
  • Karel Huijser, JLG, Pierre Boels, Boels, and Norty Turner, United Rentals, will hold a round-table discussion covering sustainability and digitization, including new innovations in green power sources, the possibilities in new technology for enhanced performance management, and trends in market demand for cleaner and greener powered access operations.

The keynote presentations will be interspersed with announces of the category winners of the 2020-2021 IAPAs, as well as video presentations from the sponsors. There will also be a video presentation about how IPAF member firms have supported their clients, communities, or charities/causes during the pandemic.

Douglas said,  “We have been forced to change the way we do things with this year’s Summit and IAPAs, but I have to say the opportunities afforded by an all-digital program have proved quite exciting, and we are very pleased to have been able to put together an engaging if condensed conference program."

Registration is free, but you must register beforehand at www.iapa-summit.info/booking.
