Sunbelt Rentals has acquired Theros Equipment Rentals, an equipment rental and sales company founded in in 1996 in Springfield, VA.
Terms of the deal were not released.
“The acquisition of Theros presents a unique opportunity for Sunbelt to broaden our service network in a very active market and brings with it an excited team of rental professionals eager to provide our combined customer base with expanded equipment availability, distribution and support,” said Ken Kenkel, Sunbelt’s executive vice president of business development.
Joel Theros, former owner of Theros Equipment, will remain with Fort Mills, South Carolina-based Sunbelt as a regional operations manager to help develop business in the Northeast.
“Theros Equipment has always been devoted to serving our customers with a large product offering, convenient locations and an experienced, dedicated staff of rental professionals,” Theros said.
“I felt Sunbelt was the best fit to elevate that service commitment to a new level, with access to the broadest fleet mix in the rental industry and to provide expanded career opportunities for my team,” he said.
Theros Equipment has four locations, all in northern Virginia: Fredericksburg, New Baltimore, Springfield and Sterling.
