Icahn Agitating for a Navistar/Oshkosh Merger

Billionaire investor owns about 10% of each company, and talks about 'synergy' in their merger

Billionaire investor Carl Icahn has been agitating for change at International Truck maker Navistar and he told CNBC that he sees synergy in a merger with rival Oshkosh.

"I definitely think it would be a good merger. I think there would be a lot of synergy," Icahn said. "I own stock in both [about 10% of each] and I think shareholders of both companies would benefit."

Oshkosh brands include JLG Industries, McNeilus, IMT, Pierce fire apparatus and others.
