Every year, more than 80,000 workers suffer an injury on construction job sites across the U.S. Any one incident is one too many. Life is too precious to not make safety the No. 1 focus in the U.S. construction industry.
That's why 31 national and global construction firms comprising The Construction Industry Safety (CISI) group and the Incident and Injury Free CEO (IIF) Forum have joined forces with a single aim: to inspire everyone in the industry to be leaders in safety.
The Walsh Group, along with 24 other national contractors, is excited to announce that it is co-sponsoring an industry-wide Safety Week, May 4-10, 2014. During that week, every one of its regions, and all of its projects, will participate in activities to raise safety awareness. Each region and project will be asked to craft their own agenda of how best to celebrate safety on their specific project.
The Safety Week sponsorship group is hosting a standalone website, www.safetyweek2014.com, to assist in the sharing of information within our industry. Remember, safety is everyone's responsibility and this effort is a perfect time to reinforce that.
