Now in its third year, the American Road & Transportation Builders Association’s (ARTBA) 2013 Student Video Contest  challenges young adults to explore the various logistical, financial and structural issues facing one of the nation’s greatest capital assets – our transportation infrastructure.

Sponsored by ARTBA’s Research and Education Division (RED), contestants are invited to develop and submit an original, two-to-four minute video that explores issues relating to the U.S. transportation network. Past videos have addressed how transportation infrastructure is built and paid for, the impacts of traffic congestion, new transportation technologies, public perception of transportation development, and how transportation might look in the future.

Students may enter in one of two categories: elementary through high school, or college and graduate school.  Elementary, middle, and high school teachers can help their classes with video production. Winning entrants will receive a $500 cash prize and have their videos screened during ARTBA’s September 8-10 National Convention in Milwaukee.

The deadline for submissions is August 15.  Entries will be judged by the association’s top volunteer leaders.  Contact ARTBA’s Lital Shair for more information at (202) 298-4434.
