SuperPave Direct Tension Tester

SuperPave Direct Tension Tester evaluates the low temperature thermal properties of asphalt binder and provides data to predict the temperature at which thermal cracking would occur in the roadway. The computer controlled testing instrument determines the pass/fail analysis for asphalt Performance Grading and performs comparisons of binder/additive and binder/modifier interactions over a wide range of strain rates. The tester meets AASHTO, SHRP and FHWA specifications. Features include a linear servomotor drive and fully integrated software for control, data acquisition and real time monitoring. An optional Blister Fixture allows for evaluation and measurement of hot-poured crack sealant adhesion.
