“The FuelCube Type-S propels Western Global into a new sector.” - Jeff Lowe, vice president of product marketing at Western Global

Western Global, a manufacturer of fuel and fluid storage solutions, offers the FuelCube Type-S, a compact fuel tank that fits in the back of a truck. Available in the U.S., the FuelCube Type-S can be used on construction sites and hard-to-access work areas.

Designed to safely transport and dispense diesel fuel when and where it’s needed without hazardous material placard requirements, it serves as an alternative to slip tanks. This new solution offers 110% containment, security features and versatility. The dual-purpose adaptability of the fuel tank allows businesses to use it as a truck bed tank or an onsite tank.

Operations have been using traditional slip tanks to refuel smaller diesel equipment fleets without the need for hazardous materials placarding, but they’re looking for a more secure, user-friendly option. We are excited to expand our FuelCube line to offer an optimal solution for this market, said Lowe.

The FuelCube Type-S features a 119-gallon capacity and is optimal for 3/4-ton pickups or larger due to the tank’s weight when filled with fuel. Unlike slip tanks, which are often difficult to remove, contractors can lift this tank out of the truck using the tank’s four-way forklift pockets. Contractors can use the truck bed space while using the tank as a stationary refueler to keep operations rolling.

Corner brackets make the tank stackable when empty to save space on the jobsite when removed from the truck.

Western Global designed the FuelCube Type-S with durability in mind, featuring built-in, weatherproof 110% double-walled containment that eliminates the need for pans or basins. This reduces the potential of an operation-halting fuel spill should the tank become damaged.

While slip tanks are prone to fuel theft, the FuelCube Type-S offers heightened security with a lockable equipment cabinet to protect the pump and feed/return lines. The equipment cabinet also promotes long pump and hose life by shielding the components from rough elements.

“Slip tanks are ubiquitous in the equipment landscape,” said Lowe.

“Despite that, they’re difficult to unload and vulnerable to fuel theft. That’s why we’re eager to offer operators a product with more adaptability, mobility and security to optimize their fueling experience.”
