Wisconsin Assembly Attempting to Repeal Prevailing Wage Law

Despite a failed attempt to repeal the policy in the Senate, the Assembly Labor Committee has called for a hearing on repealing the law

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

Wisconsin's Assembly Labor Committee has scheduled a hearing on repealing the state's 84-year-old prevailing wage law. Three weeks ago a repeal failed in a Senate committee, but Rep. Andre Jacque (R- De Pere), chairman of the Assembly committee is making another attempt to repeal the policy.

The Assembly will vote on the measure after Wednesday's hearing. If the measure passes it could go to the Assembly floor, but Assembly Speaker Robin Vos (R-Rochester) said there are not enough votes to support the measure.
