Skanska-Hunt, the joint venture originally contracted to build the $1.4 billion expansion to the Washington State Convention Center, is suing the entity that runs the convention center to prevent it from selecting a new contractor. Skanska-Hunt claims the convention center officials violated contractual obligations.

New Contractors Sought for Washington State Convention Center Expansion Project

In addition, Skanska-Hunt claims there were no complaints about their work, and they were not told why they were terminated from the project.

The convention center expansion project was expected to start in 2017 and support around 6,000 construction jobs.
