The concrete industry is at a pivotal moment in history. There are tremendous opportunities to reduce the carbon footprint of concrete throughout its lifecycle and the NRMCA has been taking a strong step forward in bringing awareness by connecting practitioners, researchers and policy makers together to present and discuss innovations for sustainable concrete design, construction, and manufacturing.

Chryso & GCP (Saint-Gobain Construction Chemicals) have announced that two of their leading experts, Lisa Barnard, LEED AP, WELL AP - Sustainability & Customer Engagement Program Manager and Terry Harris, FACI, Director, Technical Service - Concrete, will speak at the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association’s (NRMCAConcrete Innovations webinar on June 14, 2023, from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm CST.

Barnard and Harris will address the Chryso & GCPCurbing CO2 at the Source” approach, which enables the achievement of technical, business and sustainable objectives in concrete while considering the cement specificities. Barnard will provide an overview of this approach showcasing the products, processes and tools that drive strength enhancement and cement reduction. Harris will present case studies featuring a new inventive strength enhancer for concrete that reduces the cement factor by approximately 10%, in addition to the water reducer, while maintaining premium concrete quality and performance. It is a powerful solution to further reducing cement, cost and carbon while increasing the strength of concrete.

The title of Barnard and Harris' presentation is Driving Carbon Reduction through Innovative Products, Tools and Data.
