CM Labs Simulations, a vendor for simulation-based training in the construction and ports industries, has announced the release of its Telehandler Simulator Training Pack. The simulation-based solution replicates machine stability and engine behavior for operator training. The Training Pack also helps organizations address industry issues such as safety, sustainability and equipment maintenance.

Incorrect load handling or misuse of the telescopic boom can result in injury, collisions or equipment tipping. CM Labs’ Telehandler Training Pack offers a safe and comprehensive alternative for initial training while mitigating fuel consumption and wear and tear that typically result from inexperienced handling.

The Training Pack’s progressive learning exercises gradually build skill and confidence. Trainees work on skills such as controls familiarization, trailer loading and unloading, lifting from ground and heights, live attachment change and shuttle operations. Performance metrics tracked during training exercises include safety violations, such as collisions, tipping or flipping, loads dropped, machine stability and fuel efficiency.

“With the telehandler market growing, especially in Europe, ensuring simulation training accurately behaves like the real thing is paramount to ensuring safe operations on a real work site,” explained Alan Limoges, product manager at CM Labs.

Applying CM Labs’ proprietary Smart Training Technology, the simulator replicates machine behavior—providing real-world training opportunities to help reduce the risk of accidents. Users gain an understanding of vehicle acceleration and steering, gear shifting, suspension and bounciness effect on rubber tires, boom backlash and deflections while driving. Realistic earth and asset behavior reinforce proper load positioning, lifting and blind spot awareness, resulting in safer cycle times. The simulation replicates engine vibrations, fork scraping and shifting, alarms and other sounds that are essential audio cues for safe operation and task completion.

The Telehandler Training Pack is compatible with all of CM Labs’ Vortex Simulators, including the desktop Vortex Edge Plus, the motion-enabled Vortex Edge Max and the high-immersion Vortex Advantage. The simulator training is part of CM Labs’ range of lifting machines for training schools or companies with a wide range of equipment in their fleet.
