In this paper we discuss the three major ways GPS and diagnostic devices retrieve data from heavy machinery, mid-sized assets, and vehicles—OBD, JBUS, and CAN bus. While location data is often a driving factor in beginning the search for tracking services, construction companies can benefit in terms of increased productivity, reduced costs, and more accurate billing from the breadth of data that can come from assets.
