Western Global’s DEF Top Tote was developed to provide a commercially available universal solution for storing and dispensing diesel exhaust fluid (DEF). It has a 100-gallon capacity and attaches to four models of Western Global’s TransCube Global transportable fuel tank — 20TCG, 30TCG, 40TCG and 50TCG — providing a two-in-one solution that holds both DEF and diesel at the same time. The DEF Top Tote offers a capacity of 200 gallons for the 40TCG and 50TCG to maintain the proportional relationship of approximately 10 percent of DEF per gallon of diesel.
“Until now, DEF has been a universal problem without a universal solution. Our DEF Cube and Top Tote are the quantum leap for DEF storage,” said Jeff Lowe, vice president of product marketing at Western Global. “Our customers are looking for the same experience with DEF as they get with diesel, and these new storage tanks answer that call with the versatility to connect to and fill any piece of equipment.”
The DEF Top Tote features an RSV valve that automatically closes once disconnected, sealing the Top Tote against contamination and protecting the customer’s DEF supply. Rental centers can easily install the DEF Top Tote on the TransCube Global, providing an add-on option to match their customers’ jobsite needs.
The DEF Top Tote is constructed with steel framework to stand up to tough environments and a 6mm-thick poly tank that includes a UV additive to prevent DEF breakdown. It has two ports to feed up to two pumps simultaneously and can do so at the same time the TransCube Global fills machines with diesel fuel. Western Global offers three pumping systems for the DEF Top Tote — an AutoDEF Replenish system that monitors the level of DEF in stationary equipment and automatically refills the fluid as needed, and 115v and 12v handheld transfer pumps that each feature a nozzle for refilling equipment that moves throughout the jobsite.
