North Dakota Approves Dakota Access Pipeline

North Dakota has jointed Illinois and South Dakota in granted a route permit for the Dakota Access Pipeline, which will be the largest crude oil pipeline from North Dakota's Bakken oil field. Iowa is the only state that on the route that has not yet approved the pipeline.

Dakota Access has already staged pipe along the route and anticipates starting construction in the first quarter of 2016 with the pipeline being in service by the fourth quarter of this year. That timeline depends on regulatory approvals, which includes approval from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers approving two Missouri River crossings.
