Arson Suspected of Causing Nearly $1M in Construction Equipment Damage on Bakken Pipeline Project

Heavy equipment appears to have been intentionally burned in three possibly related fires all damaging equipment of the company building the Bakken pipeline in Iowa

Authorities suspect arson as the cause of three fires that damaged construction equipment being used to build the Bakken pipeline project in Iowa. According to authorities, it appeared the equipment was intentionally burned. Damage to the heavy equipment, including bulldozers and backhoes, is nearly $1 million.

Construction of Iowa Underground Pipeline Gets Green Light

Officials are investigating the fires in Mahaska and Jasper County. Well still unknown, the fires may be related. No arrests have been made as of August 1.
