JLG Industries Inc. has won the SolutionFest Best Mobile Solution award from The eLearning Guild for its “Introduction to JLG Scissor Lifts” course.
The award was announced at the Guild’s Learning Solutions Conference & Expo 2013, held earlier this year in Orlando, FL. More than 40 conference participants, including JLG, showed off their latest development efforts, giving attendees an opportunity to see a wide variety of eLearning solutions. Attendees then voted on the best entries in each of eight categories, as well as best vendor and best non-vendor.
In addition to JLG, award winners included Toys “R” Us, AARP, UMass Memorial Health Care, CarMax, American Red Cross, State College of Florida Manatee-Sarasota, Serco Inc., Articulate and North Carolina Community Colleges. JLG’s mobile solution was developed by Artisan E-Learning, a contractor based in Jacksonville, FL.
The “Introduction to JLG Scissor Lifts” course describes scissor lifts manufactured by JLG, the history of scissor lifts, their typical applications and the basic types of scissor lifts. The 25-minute course is designed for all levels of scissor lift users, from sales and service to operators and parts personnel, and can be used on the sales floor, in the maintenance area and at client sites.
“The eLearning Guild is an industry organization that’s well known in the training world, so winning one of their awards is a very coveted achievement,” said Rick Smith, JLG Industries senior director of product training. “Our innovative solution can be used on computers and mobile devices by hundreds of sales and maintenance staff around the world.”
The course is one of several online training opportunities available through JLG University, a comprehensive educational program designed to deliver training online while managing class enrollments and training records.
