Our first product is a set of Tailgate Lowering Links which, when added to the existing tailgate support cables on a truck, allow the tailgate to be lowered enough so that slide outs, and drawers will clear the handle bump. The tailgate on a 2013 Ford Super Duty is about 1.5 inches higher than level with the bed. With our FD1 Links installed the tailgate is about 1.5 inches lower than the level of the bed. The Links can be left installed if they are covered with 1 inch, 3:1 heat shrink tubing. This prevents damage to the paint and prevents the Links from detaching from the bed side. We also make Links for GM Trucks. Installation couldn’t be easier; the Lowering Links are installed by simply detaching the end of the tailgate support cable from the bedside and inserting the Lowering Links between the support cable and the bedside. This patented product is the only product on the market that lets consumers lower, and use, their tailgate in a position that is lower than the conventional open position.
