Texas Adds the Most Construction Jobs

According to the latest analysis by the Arlington, VA-based Associated General Contractors of America, over the 12 months ended September 30, 2012, Texas added the most construction jobs — a total of 32,800. The Lone Star State went from a total of 559,500 construction-sector employees at the end of September last year, to 592,300 in September 2012.
Texas was one of 23 states that added construction jobs between September 2011 and 2012, AGC reports. That leaves another 28 states that gave up jobs over the same time period.
The AGC analysis tracks employment numbers for all 50 states, plus the District of Columbia.
