Manhattan Construction Group, a $1.5-billion Tulsa-based general contractor, expanded into pipeline construction services with the purchase of Danny Wright Dozer & Pipeline Inc.

Wright Dozer & Pipeline, based in Hinton, Okla., specializes in green-field pipeline construction and employs 90. A Manhattan statement says all of the acquired company's people "will be offered the opportunity to transition to Manhattan Pipeline."

Manhattan expects the acquisition to expand its civil, road and bridge construction operations, which delivered about a quarter of the company's 2013 revenues.

“Manhattan Pipeline will provide a broad range of services to the oil and gas pipeline industry as well as to regional utility companies,” said Kevin P. Moore, president of Manhattan Construction Group. “The addition of this operation and its capabilities will enhance our civil construction service portfolio and expand our presence into this growing market.”
