The 257-hp Komatsu PC360LC-10 at 79,000 lbs. and 177-hp PC240LC-10 at 55,000 lbs. are upgraded to comply with EPA Tier 4 Interim and EU Stage 3B emissions limits with new Komatsu engines that the maker says increase power while decreasing fuel consumption. Komatsu developed the hydraulically actuated Variable Geometry Turbocharger and Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valves used in these engines for operating precision and durability. Integrated Komatsu diesel particulate filters do not interfere with daily operation.

The Dash-10 excavators have a new high-resolution 7-in. LCD monitor that displays information in 25 languages. Operators can easily select from five working modes -- Power Mode, Economy Mode, Heavy Lift Mode, Breaker Mode, and Attachment Mode -- to match machine performance to the application. The new monitor panel also provides operational guidance, operating records, fuel-consumption history and utilization information. A standard rearview camera allows the operator to view directly behind the machine.

The PC360LC-10 and PC240LC-10 are equipped with the latest KOMTRAX technology, which wirelessly sends machine operating information to a secure website. Data such as operating hours, location, cautions and maintenance alerts are relayed to the web application for analysis. Effective use of KOMTRAX data can increase machine availability, reduce risk of machine theft, allow for remote diagnosis by the distributor and provide information to improve business efficiency and productivity.
