In a move long requested by contractors and exhibitors National Pavement Expo West will move to its original Las Vegas home when it returns to the Riviera Hotel & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip Dec. 8-10, 2011.
The Riviera was NPE West's home for 2001 and 2002 before NPE West moved to the Las Vegas Convention Center in 2003. The move back to a hotel-centered event will make attending easier for contractors as they can book rooms right in the hotel where NPEW takes place and can walk to exhibits and seminars rather than taking a cab or the monorail.
The Riviera opened in 1955, making it the ninth hotel and one of the original Las Vegas Strip attractions. It was the first high-rise hotel on the Strip and the first to be built as something other than a motel-type layout and design. Its smaller, more intimate casino, casino-centered bar, and live stage show offer a glimpse into Las Vegas past.
