Buildots' Intelligence Lab has released its inaugural Global Construction Benchmarks Report, analyzing anonymized data from hundreds of construction projects across five industry sectors.

The report found that construction projects deliver just 63% of planned weekly output on average. Only 29.3% of activities start on time, while 52.8% of active work stays on schedule. The remaining 37% of planned work is typically undelivered each week.

The findings also show that construction activities finish an average of 5.3 weeks late. Top-performing projects reduce that figure to 2.3 weeks.

Of the 21 construction activities measured, 20 fell short of planned weekly production. Drywall framing was the only activity to exceed its target, while resilient and soft flooring recorded the largest shortfall.

Buildots said the benchmarks are intended to provide construction teams with data to compare planned and actual performance. The company plans to release additional reports focused on specific sectors and regions, beginning with data centers and health care.
