NJ $1M Pre-apprenticeship Training Grant Supports Women in Construction Trades

Grant will help women begin careers in construction through four $250,000 grant awards for pre-apprenticeship training programs

A $1 million grant, funded by the New Jersey Builders Utilization Initiative for Labor Diversity (NJBUILD) fund, is meant help women begin careers in the construction trades. The grant will provide four grant awards at approximately $250,000 each, contingent upon available funding, and will support partnership with trade unions and private contractors with development and provisions of pre-apprenticeship training and placement of individuals with labor unions.

The grant is expected for a 12-month period beginning January 1, 2019.
