The American Society of Concrete Contractors will present a webinar, "What I Wish I Knew About Concrete Construction" on Wednesday, October 12, 2016. The webinar will take place from 3:00 pm CDT to 4:00 pm CDT.

The webinar will be presented by Oscar Antommattei from Kiewit.

It is the goal of a construction team to build quality work safely within schedule and budget while meeting the design intent and achieving the expected performance of the concrete structure and exceeding client expectations. For some people, this easily translates to a simple task of interpretation and implementation of knowledge. For others, it can mean understanding the effects of the daily variables in construction operations. From theory to reality; specifications to design; design to construction; construction to acceptance; and, acceptance to opening to service, all aspects of concrete construction require knowing and understanding both sides of the spectrum.

In concrete construction, many professionals go from labcrete to realcrete. Others go from realcrete to labcrete. How does this transfer of knowledge and experiences from professionals shape the industry and practices of concrete construction?

This presentation will cover the perspective of a practitioner in the concrete construction industry and illustrate how we can be part of making the best of it. Different examples and lessons learned related to experiences in the concrete construction industry will be used to show opportunities and challenges.

ASCC webinars are free to ASCC members. For non-members there is a $35 fee.
