AGC Pavilion Gathers Construction IT & Business Solutions

AGC-sponsored IT & Business Solutions Pavilion offers focus on technology, BIM, green/sustainable construction, business practices unique to construction

CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2011 will feature an IT & Business Solutions Pavilion as a "show within a show" of construction-focused technology and business services providers. The pavilion is sponsored by the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC). AGC is also a CONEXPO-CON/AGG sponsor and is co-locating its 2011 annual convention with the show.

The AGC 2011 IT & Business Solutions Pavilion offers attendees a focused environment for business discussions and product demonstrations. AGC has sponsored the pavilion as an industry service for more than a decade.

The AGC pavilion will showcase construction solutions and products in areas such as:

  • Technology and BIM (including virtual design and construction, CAD, financial and accounting, integrated project delivery, project management, financial and accounting)
  • Building products and systems (including high performance materials, security and access, electrical, mechanical and smart building)
  • Green and sustainable (including LEED-certified, green construction, environmental compliance, emission controls, renewable/recycled materials)
  • Business/industry practices (including risk management, public-private partnerships, civil infrastructure, leadership/recruitment, construction law, executive life solutions, ownership transfer)

"Contractors and other industry professionals are faced with changing technology and business conditions, and they need to keep up to speed with the latest products and services that can help them run an efficient business operation, in the field and at the office," said Richard Brown, AGC's executive director of convention and meeting services.

"The pavilion gives show attendees convenient access to new products and applications for side-by-side comparisons, and pavilion exhibitors gain access to a highly qualified audience of attendees with authority/responsibility for project, technology and business decisions," he added.

CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2011 will be held March 22 through 26, 2011 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, USA.

AGC is a full-service national trade association, established in 1918, with more than 33,000 leading firms in the construction industry, including general contractors, specialty contractors and service providers and suppliers. More than 92 percent of AGC contractor members are owners, partners or officers of their firms.
