Mica Concedes Transport-Committee Leadership, Supports Shuster

Letter to Boehner ends appeal for term-limit waiver and recommends Shuster to lead House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee

Rep. John Mica (R-FL) is dropping his bid to remain chairman of the U.S. House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee and supporting Rep. Bill Shuster (R-PA) to be his successor. Mica has been chairman of the Transportation Committee since 2010, but is bumping up against term limits for committee chairmen and ranking members.

Shuster has been widely expected to replace Mica atop the Transportation Committee next year, and he has already formally declared his candidacy.
