Dallas Area Rapid Transit was awarded a $120 million TIFIA loan from the federal government to fund the final stretch of the Orange Line transit rail to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.
The loan, announced Friday by U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood, will allow DART to stay on schedule to complete the $400 million expansion — including 5 miles of rail and a new station at D/FW’s Terminal A — in December 2014.
