New Illinois Fertilizer Plant Expected to Create 2,000 Temporary Jobs

Cronus Chemicals is said to have chosen an eastern Illinois site over one in Iowa for its new $1.4 billion fertilizer plant

While an official announcement has yet to be made, two officials familiar with the situation have said a $1.4 billion fertilizer plant will be built on a site in eastern Illinois, according to an article from the Journal Star. Cronus Chemicals LLC is building the plant with plans to also establish its U.S. headquarters in Chicago. Construction of the plant is expected to being in the spring and take about three years to complete. The project is likely to create approximately 2,000 temporary jobs and employ 175 people when the plant is complete.
