Seven Major 2015 Groundbreakings in Downtown LA

Development money pouring into downtown Los Angeles is reviving projects stalled by the recession; here's a sample of seven major groundbreakings expected in 2015

Development money is pouring into the Central City of Los Angeles, with 2015 groundbreakings scheduled for hotels, housing towers and even a couple mega-projects. Several are projects that were stalled by the recession in 2008.

Seven of the most anticipated new developments include a $100-million, 24-story tower; an $850-million mega project with a 300-room hotel, condominiums, a 450-apartment residential tower and retail space; a 472-unit residential complex with 20,000 sq. ft. of retail space; renovation of the Commercial Exchange Building to a 226-room hotel; renovation of the Case Hotel into a four-star boutique hotel with 151 rooms; a seven-story residential building with 315 apartments; and a 27-story apartment tower.
