Two Major Texas LNG Construction Projects on the Horizon

NextDecade plans to spend $8 billion to expand an existing LNG plant in addition to spending $6 billion on a new LNG project, both in Texas

NextDecade LLC, a liquefied natural gas (LNG) exporting company, is planning two major Texas LNG projects in Brownsville and Galveston. The projects include an $8 billion expansion project for Rio Grande LNG in Brownsville which would double the size of the proposed export terminal. The second project is a $6 billion Pelican Island LNG project near Galveston. NextDecade hopes to start construction on the Brownsville project in 2017.
