Construction Planned for First Offshore Wind Farm in US

Block Island project is just one of several offshore wind farm projects in the works along the Eastern seaboard

Construction on the five-turbine wind farm offshore of Rhode Island is planned to start this summer with plans of the farm being operational by the fall of 2016. The project could create 300 construction jobs and when complete power about 17,000 homes.
