Rendering of downtown Orlando's Creative Village project
While groundwork for downtown Orlando's 68-acre, $1 billion Creative Village project was originally started in 2012, no construction had been started while funding had been caught in a budget battle in the state legislature. The officially groundbreaking and start of construction is on May 14. Phase one will start with approximately $13 million of infrastructure work on the bus route, building paths all new roads, sidewalks and lighting.
Phase one should take about one year, but full construction of the Creative Village is expected to take nearly two decades.
