Contractors Selected for $648M Interstate 77 Highway Project

Ferrovial Agroman and WC English will be responsible for design and construction of North Carolina's highway project

The North Carolina Department of Transportation has selected the bid from I-77 Mobility Partners consortium for its $648 million Interstate 77 highway project. The consortium is led by Ferrovial subsidiary Cintra Infrastructures. Contra will develop the project while a joint venture of Ferrovial Agroman and U.S. construction firm WC English will be responsible for design and construction.

The project includes widening 26 miles of highway on I-77, reconstruction of the existing road and creation of managed lanes to enhance capacity. Variable electronic tolls will also be created. 

The project is expected to by completed by 2018.
