GM Investing $1.2B to Upgrade Pickup Truck Assembly Plant

General Motors is investing $5.4 billion to upgrade 40 US factories

General Motors will invest $1.2 billion to upgrade its Fort Wayne, Ind., assembly plant which produces the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickup trucks. Construction is expect to start in June and take several years to complete.

The upgrades will include construction of a new plant shop, expanding the existing body shop and other new technology.

GM is investing $5.4 billion to upgrade 40 factories in the United States.
