Amazon Building Virginia's Largest Solar Farm

The $200 million project will create 300 to 400 jobs when construction begins in 2016

Online retailer Amazon has announced it will buy energy from Virginia's soon-to-be largest solar farm in Accomack County. The solar farm will use 250,000 solar panels across 900 acres — generating enough electricity to power about 15,000 homes in one year.

The project is expected to cost $200 million and create 300 to 400 jobs when construction begins in 2016. The solar farm has a target completion date of October 2016.
